Ghajini crosses one billion mark

Ghajini has created history by becoming the first Bollywood movie to cross the box office figure of one billion rupees within a week of its release in Christmas. It has already created the record for the first day earnings by crossing the first day earnings of Singh is Kinng and Om Shanti Om. The film broke all previous box office records though many were concerned if it would do well when India and the world is going through a period of recession. Aamir Khan who has proved himself and his worth in Bollywood once again with Ghajini also praised the director A R Murugadoss. Aamir said
I”m very happy and thankful that the film is being appreciated by the audience so much. The hard work put in by the entire team is being appreciated by the people
The lead actress Asin Thottumkal who also acted in the original Tamil version of Ghajini said
I don’t come with baggage or expectations. I just focus on my work. I thank you all for the love you have given
The movie has done exceptionally well in India as well as abroad and the box office cash meters are still running and it is expected to run for sometime with no big releases nearby. Great job Aamir and great going Ghajini !

Deepika Padukone came out of the movie hall as soon as Ghajini ended and zoomed away in her car. So the buzz going around is that is this her new boyfriend and has she dumped Ranbir or two-timing him? Only time can tell

Aamir Khan defeats Shahrukh Khan
Shahrukh Khan may be the King Khan but Aamir Khan has defeated SRK once again and proved that he is the king of Bollywood and a perfectionist actor. Aamir Khan’s Ghajini has already been declared a superhit and has all the signs that it would become a blockbuster. Shahrukh Khan’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was also a huge success but it was much lesser in terms of box office collections. Both the Khan’s were at loggerheads recently over who is the best actor in Bollywood and janta has decided to crown Aamir Khan as the best actor in Bollywood.
According to boxofficeindia, the Ghajini reports are as follows
The Ghajini craze continued all over India on Friday as the film collected another 11 crore adding to the 1.75 crore paid previews and 8.75 crore business on Thursday. The nett business for 2 days is an amazing 21.50 crore nett. The expectations now are for 11.50 crore on Saturday and another 13 crore on Sunday.
This would mean all the records completely torn apart as the film would have 46 crore nett business over a four day weekend when no other film has even grossed this much over the whole week. The first week looks to be heading for 60-65 crore nett business which is a mind numbing figure and simply historic.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has done exceedingly well in week one with business of around 41 crore nett. The film has done well in all circuits of india though Bihar is on the lower side. Mysore is record breaking and North is very strong. The film should emerge a Superhit and it remains to be seen if it can do blockbuster business. The 8th day is steady at places with smaller centres seeing larger falls.
So Ghajini will do a much higher business than RBNDJ and is expected to become the first Indian movie to cross the 100 crore net profit. Aamir has beat Shahrukh for sure and proved that he is the best actor though I regard both of them to be very good.
Ghajini movie review
Aamir Khan is also known as Mr. Perfectionist and he always portrays the characters in his movie to their skin. He is regarded by many as the best actor in Bollywood in terms of acitng. To add to that he only acts in a handful of movies and not more than one or two movies per year. That results in making an Aamir Khan movie nothing less than a festival and this year the release of Ghajini is a mega festival bundled with Christmas and New Year. The hype of the new Ghajini look of Aamir Khan is also very high and with more than 1100 prints Ghajini is almost sure to become a superhit.
However, apart from business does Ghajini also give all movie goers a worth of their money. Happily I can say that Aamir Khan has delivered the goods yet again. According to me this might be just one of his best acts till date. The movie has got a lot of violence but everybody knew it was an action flick and not the chocolate boy image of Aamir Khan. Many viewers are also saying that perhaps it is the best Bollywood movie in the past few years in terms of performance and storyline. The storyline is mostly the same as the Tamil Ghajini except for the climax but this Aamir version of Ghajini is just awesome. I am not saying about the tamil actor or his acting skills but Aamir Khan is a class apart as everybody knows. The movie is a revenge saga and the only small point that can be said is that it is a 3 hour long movie. But to tell the truth you cannot miss even a minute of the 3 hours as is expected from a Aamir Khan film. The screenplay and direction are excellent and director A. R. Murugadoss deserves accolades for sure. The music by A R Rehman is excellent as expected.
In the movie, Aamir Khan’s girlfriend Asin is violently murdered resulting in his memory loss. But Aamir tries to work around this short-term memory loss and avenge the murder of Asin. The storyline is not much different from the Tamil version except for the climax. Most people already knew the story long before the movie was released but it is the magic of Aamir Khan who can make a remake so exceptional. Aamir Khan is an actor par excellence and he has answered once again about the No. 1 actor in Bollywood through his acting. Ghajini is going to be superhit without even a tinge of doubt and if my predictions are right it might even become the biggest Bollywood grosser of all time. I would advice everybody to watch this movie without even a tinge of doubt. You will not only get the value of your money in this movie but a lot more than that.

Aamir Khan says No. 1 actor does not announce and proclaim like SRK
In the ongoing war between the two biggest superstar Khans of Bollywood, Aamir Khan has again made indirect remarks on Shahrukh Khan. Aamir Khan, the perfectionist said that best actor does not need to announce and proclaim himself like Shahrukh Khan. It is well known that both the Khans are engaged in a war of words over the best actor in Bollywood for long and this remarks is an extension of this. Both Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are known to be actors producing the highest amount of superhits and blockbusters but both are unique crowd puller in their own way.
When asked, Aaamir said “For me Amitabh Bachchan is No 1. Do Lata Mangeshkar, Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan say they are number one? No one who sits on the top needs to say he is number one. Others keep claiming to be there.”
When he was asked about Shahrukh Khan calling himself the biggest brand in Bollywood, he said, “I don’t believe in competitions with others. I only compete with myself.”
He leaves another satire at the end saying, “Do you think I could dare to fight with Shah Rukh. He is a good friend and so I can’t fight with him. I respect him a lot.”
Talking about his next movie Three Idiots which also casts Kareena Kapoor, he says, “My forthcoming film after Ghajini is Rajkumar Hirani’s Three Idiots and I play the character of an idiot with R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. But I think Shah Rukh, Salman and I are truly the three idiots of Bollywood.”

Salman Khan was so impressed by Ghajini that he made paintings of Amir Khan’s Ghajini look and they were unveiled by Asin at Inox multiplex. Amir Khan and Salman Khan are known to be good friends and this paintings again proved the same.
Asin bags Tata Sky and Tanishq brands
Asin seems to be making big inroads into Bollywood bagging several brands Bollywood movie offers. Asin Thottumkal, the south actress who has made her entry into Bollywood with the Amir Khan starrer Ghajini seems seems to be the next big thing in Bollywood. She has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Jewellery brand Tanishq and she would also feature in the new Tata sky advertisement.
